neurological injuries, concussions, head injuries, heart attacks, the environment, diet and substance abuse. all of this contributing to the 30,000 students being hospitalized every single year. one of the other things they want to look closely at are quality doctors available when students are hurt on the field or on the court. some states like california require students with possible concussions to be taken out and not put back in the game until there's a medical clearance. others don't. here on capitol hill they've been trying to come up with guidelines that all states can use but they have yet to do that. >> great study there hall of famer ronnie lott on yesterday and says he's for this. how many training is there for students and what to look out for? >> that's a good question. one of the things they're trying to do here is to get students to recognize when they are injured. a lot of times these kids don't want to come out of the game and sometimes they don't realize how badly hurt they are. there is a lot of push in these high school sports particularly and sometimes they mistake pai
